All abstracts must be complete—including methods, results, discussion, and graphics—and will be judged based on originality and scientific importance.

REMINDER: ACC Leadership Briefing on CMS Proposed Rules – Tomorrow, Aug. 19 at 8 p.m. ET

ACC Advocacy will host a virtual Leadership Briefing on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 8 p.m. ET to address the key cardiovascular-related issues proposed in the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and Hospital Outpatient Payment/Ambulatory Surgical Center rules.

Several policy proposals within these rules could result in significant payment adjustments for ACC members if finalized. The purpose of this briefing is to share the critical highlights from both rules and equip you, as College leaders, with the knowledge necessary to engage your Chapters, Sections, Committees and other stakeholders effectively.

New ACC/AHA Guideline Addresses Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Management of High Blood Pressure

The latest Clinical Practice Guideline released last week from the ACC and the American Heart Association (AHA) and 11 other societies provides updated recommendations for clinicians on the prevention, detection, evaluation and management of high blood pressure in adults.

Published in JACC, the new guideline reflects the latest research and evidence since February 2015 and replaces the previous version from 2017. Several new or revised recommendations address topics related to secondary forms of hypertension, primary aldosteronism, lifestyle and psychosocial approaches, hypertension and pregnancy, acute intracerebral hemorrhage, resistant hypertension and renal denervation, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and mild cognitive impairment and dementia.

Applications are now open for over 300 leadership roles across more than 80 ACC Committees. From Member Section Leadership Council positions to NCDR and ACC Accreditation Services committees, there are many opportunities for members to step into leadership roles and contribute to the College's Mission.
